Giving Thanks for Our First Year

As we are also closing in on a year since we launched Amantombazana, Inc a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are reflecting on this last year. The organization was launched in November 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through your generous contributions we were able to support the needs of young girls and women from very low-income families we support in Matabeleland, Zimbabwe during this exceptionally difficult time.

Amatombazana sponsors five girls, three at universities in Zimbabwe, one at high school and the one at primary school and pays their tuition, boarding and upkeep. Read more about them under Our Impact.

During COVID-19, when colleges and schools shifted from physical to virtual learning due to health risk, Amantombazana swiftly responded to the needs of the high school and university students by equipping each of them with a Chromebook. Amatombazana also provided WIFI and other learning resources for the girls, who would not have otherwise been able to attend lessons and/or complete assignments.

Amantombazana received various in-kind donations of Covid-19 preventative supplies such as masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and stationery. Amatombazana shipped the donations to deserving communities and teachers, and students who continued to meet in small social-distanced classrooms preparing for final examinations.

Amantombazana conducted a hygiene camp for girls earlier this year.

100% of your donations go towards the beneficiaries – there are no administrative fees.

Your donations, big or small, are valuable will go a long way to help continue to support the girls we currently sponsor and to add others in the coming year. All Amatombazana board members and staff are professionals who donate their services to the organization without charge.

Thank you, Siyabonga!
